About
I'm Zach Stow, a BSc Finance & Data Analytics (with Year in Industry) undergraduate at the University of Liverpool, currently heading into my final year of studies.
I've achieved a first-class average across three of my four completed years so far, and aim to maintain this in my final year. Throughout my degree, I've enjoyed applying what I've learned through a range of academic and personal projects, and I'm excited to build on these as I complete my dissertation, alongside modules including: Machine Learning & Data Mining, Derivative Securities, and Financial Risk Management.
My placement year was spent at BDO UK, the UK's fifth-largest professional services firm, where I worked as a Data Analyst on a one-year industrial placement. I transformed and prepared financial data using SQL-based scripting to develop dashboard-ready datasets, implementing data cleaning, transformation logic, and quality controls.
Alongside my studies and placement experience, I tutor Business Studies, trade foreign exchange on funded capital, and run Stow Algo, a central trading platform focused on algorithmic strategy development.
Outside of work and academics, I go to the gym, train Muay Thai, and DJ / Produce dance music. I've performed at a number of well-known venues in Liverpool, including Baa Bar, ArtsClub, and Invisible Wind Factory, and have also featured as a guest DJ on Select Radio.
